“So hey Ron”, you say, “WTF? What is this cornucopia of goodness called “Ron’s Blog”, and how do I maximize the crunchy and nutritious goodness I get from it?” Well, here’s where I tell you that.
The Bloggy part: Over here in the fat left column is a blog, updated sporadically. It often has posts of a couple paragraphs or more, typically about some tidbit of current culture/politics, humanistic atheism and church/state separation, parenting my son, or some other blather about a personal interest of mine. Posts that are more academically philosophical or psychological can be found at my quasi-professional page at profron.net/blog-posts. Recently Viewed & Commented News & Links part: This is a more rapid and less sporadic feed of articles and stuff that I read and think is interesting, with a little one-line comment. You can read it in the far right column (or subscribe to the feed here if you go for that kind of thing).
The Scrapbook part: This is a little scrapbook of mostly videos and pictures, also updated on a pretty constant basis. Not so unlike the “News and Links” thing, except video/images rather than text/articles, and without the commenting. This is really a feed from my Tumblr page (ron.tumblr.com); you could read that directly if you wanted, or subscribe to the RSS feed here.
The static pages: I have a few other more static pages here:
- Essays: A handful of short general-interest essays I’ve written; some have appeared in papers as Op-Ed pieces, some not. Longer than blog posts, and less personal.
- Albany area: Links and stuff pertaining to my local area, the Capital Region of New York (Albany/Troy NY).
- Tech stuff: A few random pointers on tech stuff, like software and stuff.
- Odds and Ends: Stuff that doesn’t fit elsewhere, like random favorite relatively stable links.
