June 3, 2004How can you not like a story with the headline “New Study: 26% Of Americans Have Mental Illnesses“? Bullshit study, as you can easily tell from NYTimes coverage here, but the study does indeed claim that 26% of us have mental illness. Interestingly, it’s dominated by the 18% of us who are alleged to have “anxiety disorders”, rather than by depression, as you might have guessed.
Does the 1.5% and 1.2% given to Germany and Japan mean that OCD wasn’t being counted as a mental illness?
Oh, lighten up.
