Dramatic tragedy in Ozworld
March 6, 2005Oz likes to cut things out with scissors, and is getting pretty good at it. (He’s not the most coordinated kid around, but some of his fine-motor stuff is decent — scissor and mouse control, for example.) As he gets better, he gets more ambitious, and cuts more detailed and delicate shapes — which means he also occasionally slips and makes a cut he didn’t intend.
Last night, he was cutting something detailed out of an old magazine, and made an unintentional cut that screwed up what he intended. Sometimes when this happens, he just asks us to tape it for him. But this time, he throws up his hands and cries out “Oh no! That’s wrong!” Then he drops his head to the table and moans, “I’ll never cut again!”
