Subtle distinctions in the scope of “pretend”

And while I’m on the subject of pretending in Oz World: For some reason, Oz thinks there’s a very important difference between saying that, for example, what he just made with play-doh is “pretend food” (bad), and saying we’re pretending that it’s real food (good).
