Halloween quickies
October 31, 2005A couple of quick Halloween thoughts:
- We had a grand total of two groups of trick-or-treaters this year. Both were strangers — except that Oz recognized at least one kid from each group from school (not his class). Of course, he knows everybody’s name and what class they’re in, and all the addresses of the kids in his class. He’ll be a great stalker someday.
- At Panera Bread today, a group of three women in their early-mid 20’s came in and sat at the next booth, already in costume: Daisy Duke, a Playboy bunny, and a french maid — apparently the cheerleader got delayed at work. I guess for women of a certain age, Halloween has no macabre theme, but is just National Dress Like Some Male Sexual Fantasy Day. Not that I’m against that or anything; but maybe it should just be a separate holiday.
