No Steve Miller, but time keeps on slippin’
July 16, 2006Randomness. I’ve been distracted by problems with health and technology. I sit with my swollen foot wrapped in ice.
Collected bits of nothing:
- So, I go into an All-for-a-Dollar store, and then a Subway. In the dollar store, the pseudo-muzak is “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)“, by Rupert Holmes (1979). In Subway, it’s David Bowie’s “Young Americans (1975)” followed by Golden Earring’s “Radar Love” (1973). I have become the lowest common denominator.
- Oz like to draw mazes. But the other day, he drew on where the finish end of the maze was labeled “Dead”.
- He’s also memorized the names, terms, and birth years and death years of all the U.S. Presidents. Sometimes, he’s an odd kid.
- I know schadenfreude is unseemly, but cut me some slack on this one: Kent Hovind, the “Dinosaur Park” evangelist jerk, has been arrested on federal charges.
- The elementary school I went to back in the 1900’s — Seattle’s Boulevard Park Elementary School — burned last week. No school I attended prior to college exists any more.
