It’s a wrap
January 1, 2007
So, one of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2007 is…
Stop blogging.
OK, I’m not really making a resolution, since if I get the hankering to start up, I suppose I will. But I’ve decided that the personal blog thing has sort of run its course for me, and might actually be counterproductive by encouraging me to write 1-paragraph blurbs about things I might otherwise write an 800-word op-ed about. So, I’ve made the — admittedly tentative — decision to stop, at least for a while.
Those of you who came around for the Oz tidbits can visit Oz’s own page at ozrock.net/oz; I expect that there might be a bit of a “What’s New” thing added there sometime for family and friends who like such things. Ephemeral Musings, the never-quite-happened philosophy-related blog will either come down completely or be transformed into something else soon. Those of you who are are interested in the professional stuff can visit me at profron.net.
I may take down this WordPress installation sometime and replace it with a static page that says pretty much what this post says. But I’m not in any hurry either, I suppose. And I’ll leave a note at this url if there’s some other place I end up doing anything like blogging, on the off chance any of you care.
I’m obviously not leaving the net, and it’s possible that I’ll start doing something not so different — e.g., join a group blog, start a podcast, or who knows what. I could even change my mind and start up here again.
But for right now anyway, I’m quitting. After all, if not me, then who? If not now, then when?

As one who put you in bloglines ages ago and who’s read every article since — you will be missed.
So long and thanks for all the fish, Ron.

Thanks for the content. Between this and GIFS I have had some enjoyable reads over the years. But I agree with your decision…so go crank some 800 word badboys out this year.
