Early sex correlates with delinquency. Duh.
March 1, 2007
Turns out Early sex correlates with delinquency. Wouldn’t you have been a little surprised if it didn’t? Of course, this spurs the obvious kinds of causation/correlation confusions from the researchers like “those who start having sex too young may not be prepared to deal with the potential emotional, social and behavioral consequences of their actions”, and “sex itself is not always a problem behavior, but the timing of sexual initiation does matter. Adolescents need to be at a stage when they are developmentally prepared for it.”
Yeah, maybe. Or maybe, just maybe, delinquents tend to, you know, have sex along with their other acts of rebellion and misbehavior, being, you know, delinquents, who tend to, you know, rebel and misbehave.
Next time: Kids who get detention tend more often to end up as criminals!
