Bye Bye Johnny
January 31, 2008Sorry to see that John Edwards is Pulling Out of the race. I would have voted for him. The media attention on the sexiness of the Obama/Clinton fight has pushed him from the limelight, I’m afraid. 
But consistently, he’s been the candidate who has carried the banner for the working poor, been out in front on issues of poverty, homelessness, and educational opportunity, and has been direct and unwaffling in his advocacy on basic issues of social and economic justice.
He was the best candidate over 5′6″ the Dems had.
OK, now I’m gonna try to embrace the new deal: Go, Obama. Because Hillary is just way too much of a civil-liberties-hating-quasi-republican for me, and doesn’t even get “credit” for that from the centrists, since they’ve all passed around the Big Lie that she’s some kind of leftist. I am a leftist; many of my friends are leftists; Hillary is no leftist.
