Things are getting bleak for McCain

October 21, 2008

Electoral-vote.com points to a CNN report that says McCain is abandoning Colorado (9 electoral votes), Iowa (7 electoral votes) and New Mexico (5 electoral votes). They point out that if Obama wins these 21 electoral votes, and you add just these to the 252 electoral votes Kerry won in 2004, he has 273. And that’s game, set, and match.

  2. Apparently, McCain really thinks he has a shot at taking Pennsylvania. None of the polls I’ve seen show him even close, but that’s where he’s spending his time and money. The governor is begging Obama to renew campaign efforts there, so I’m guessing there is some internal polling going on that indicates a closer race than the rest of us think.

For a while, I was getting a lot of email from the Obama campaign to visit PA, but haven’t in a while.

I’m guessing that there is going to be a lot of voter suppression and other ugly politics in Pennsylvania if this is really where McCain is making his stand. The Obama campaign seems pretty savvy, so they are probably ready for it (or, at least, I hope they are).
